Writing and Learning

October is Writing and Learning Month at Library of The Chathams!

indieauthordayOn Saturday, October 8 from 2 to 5 pm we will be participating in the very first Indie Author Day with over 200 other libraries across North America.  At 2 pm in the Lundt Meeting Room, we will broadcast a webinar on our big screen simultaneously with all the other participating libraries.  The webcast will feature writers, reviewers and industry leaders who will offer guidance for authors of all levels of experience.

Following the webinar, we invite any of the authors in attendance to read from their works and/or discuss their writing.  We hope this will be a good venue for writers and writing groups to share ideas and make connections. Please feel free to bring friends or any fellow writers.

If you would like more information or would like to participate, please email Robert Schriek at

In addition to Indie Author Day, we will also be hosting a three-part creative writing workshop and a talk with award-winning author/filmmaker/human rights activist Jen Marlowe.  Please click the images for more information and to register for either program.
