Virtual Browsing Published on: September 24, 2020
Many of you have told us how much you miss browsing the library shelves. We are now offering the next best thing – virtual browsing via a video call. To use this service, you will need a smartphone or another device with either Facetime or Google Duo* app.
Call the library at 973-635-0603 or email email@example.com to set up an appointment. Appointments are currently offered between the hours of 6 pm and 8 pm Monday through Thursday. When requesting an appointment, tell us what area of the library you would like to browse, e.g. new books, TV series, children’s books, cookbooks, etc.
At the time of your appointment, use Facetime or Google Duo* to call firstname.lastname@example.org. A librarian will answer the call and take you (virtually) to the shelves. You will be able to see what’s on the shelves, make your selections, and then pick up your items via Library Takeout.
*Browsing with Google Duo is not yet available. This post will be updated when it becomes available.
