Too busy to visit the library?
Are you too busy to get to the library? Library just a little too far away?
Virtual service is the latest convenience offered to you by Library of The Chathams.
You can conveniently borrow paperbacks from our book stalls at Chatham Post Office, Green Village Post Office, Chatham Train Station, Chatham Township Municipal Building, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, and Hudson City Bank thanks to Friends of The Library. You can also reserve items from our website at www.chathamlibrary.org and choose to pick them up at either the library or at the Chatham Township Municipal Building.
And you can return your books to alternate locations, including Hickory Tree Mall and Fairmount Country Store as well as at Library of The Chathams at 214 Main Street.
We are making it easier to fit the library into your life, including reading, education, magazines, and movies.
Board of Trustees President Fredric Pocci noted, “I appreciate the convenience of checking out my books at Chatham Township Municipal Building. The Board of Trustees is always seeking ways to make the library more accessible to all of our residents. The Board welcomes ideas from the community.
Use Library of The Chathams mobile app to put the library at your fingertips. From any mobile phone connected to the internet you can instantly tap into library resources, anytime, anywhere. You can search the library catalog, check your account, download an eBook, ask a question, find events and more.
To access the library’s mobile app, search Chatham Library in your phone’s market and download the app.
“Many of us live on our mobile phones these days, so it’s important for the library to be easily accessible whenever and wherever people need access to our staff and rich resources,” says Library Director Karen Brodsky “Our mobile app provides library information much faster than going through a browser. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this new way to use the library by downloading our app.”
Searching the catalog with the mobile app is especially easy. Just type the first few letters of two or three words and search results will begin to appear. For example, if you’re looking up Mark Twain in the catalog, just type “ma twa.” Once you find the title you’re looking for, you can place it on hold right from your phone.
Funding for this mobile project initiative was provided by Friends of The Library of The Chathams and LibraryLinkNJ, The New Jersey Library Cooperative whose services are funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.
