Featured Chatham Business: Sorriso Kitchen

Sorriso Kitchen is the culmination of the Bellas family’s talents and passion for feeding high quality food to folks in a creative, feel-good setting with excellent service while supporting the special needs community.  With son L.J. as inspiration, the eatery opened a year and a half ago to serve as a place for him to work upon graduation as employment opportunities are difficult to come by for many like him.

On Mondays, the restaurant is closed to the public and serves as a “classroom” for students of ECLC of NJ here in town.  It’s our intent to offer up real-life job skills in hopes of helping these disabled students become employed upon graduation. We’ve already had two graduating classes and have employed several of the graduates on a part-time basis.

Since the quarantine, the restaurant pivoted to take-out only and has added Sorriso-A-Go-Go Suppers three times weekly for folks to pick-up and enjoy at home as well as the usual breakfast and lunch fare.  New to the restaurant are “Happy Cakes” smile cupcakes which come in their own polka dot box with a gift tag ready for giving.  They’re available online and can be picked up on Saturdays.

Folks have been thanking us for remaining open and continuing to offer our usual menu.  Food truly is comfort.  Especially during difficult times like these.

We have been so very grateful and blessed to live and have a business here in this wonderful town. The support has been incredible and we very much look forward to returning to business as usual sometime in the near future.
