Notable Women of New Jersey 2018
Each year we celebrate Women’s History Month by inviting some of the state’s most accomplished women to speak at the library. We have hosted panels of outstanding speakers from the worlds of business, sports, arts and letters, politics, and medicine. This year is no exception. We will welcome four women with significant achievements in business, charity work, the media, and even one of our own – a distinguished librarian who led our professional organization.

- Kellye Garrett
- Nancy Kranich
- Kathryn Maiolo
- Terrie Carr – Program Director and Midday Host at the radio station WDHA-The Rock of New Jersey. Terrie’s strong community connection includes her “Rock N’ Ruff” program which has found homes for thousands of NJ shelter animals.
- Kellye Garrett – author of Agatha Award-nominated Hollywood Homicide. By day, Kellye is the Internal Communications Manager at iHeartMedia.
- Nancy Kranich – past President of American Library Association. Nancy teaches at Rutgers University; prior to that, she was Associate Dean of Libraries at NYU. Nancy is a nationally recognized authority on intellectual freedom.
- Kathryn Maiolo – Director of Global Policy and Training, Integrity & Compliance at Novartis Oncology. Kathryn received the Novartis Oncology President’s Award for Innovation.
The panel will be moderated by Myriam Alvarez, journalist and writer, author of the historical novel Flowers in the Dust. Her second book will be published this year.
