Library Takeout Service
You can now visit the library by appointment – click here for details. Library Takeout service continues.
Pickup Hours: Monday through Thursday 10-8:30, Friday 10-5:30, Saturday 10-4:30, Sunday 2:30-5
1. To Place an Order: You may place hold requests through the catalog OR you may place requests via email or phone. To place your order by email send your name, library card number, contact information, and requests to email@example.com or call us at 973-635-0603.
2. Library staff will assemble and label your order with your name and the last five digits of your library card number. You will be notified by email or via the automated phone system that your items are ready to pick up. The items will already be checked out to you before you pick up your order.
3. Pick-up Procedure: To pick up your takeout order, simply enter the library on the ramp side (park entrance at the rear of the building). The door will be open. For your safety, enter only when the foyer is empty, one person at a time. Your order will be available on a cart inside the rear entrance foyer. Just walk in, collect your order, and exit. The library is not open to the public at this time. Remember to continue to practice physical distancing and to wear a facemask near others. Do not come to collect items if you are feeling unwell or are having respiratory symptoms. If you have any issues collecting your order please knock on the inside door or call us while you are in the Takeout area and wait for a staff member to assist you.
4. Return Items: Chatham items will be fine-free through May 31, 2021 (there will be no overdue fines, but you are still responsible for replacement costs in case an item is lost or damaged). Other libraries may charge fines on their items. You may return library materials to the library’s book drops. Books will be quarantined for 3 days before being checked in. Please do not put donations in the book drops – we are not able to accept donations of materials at this time. Any donated items will be discarded.
