Layered Apple Cake

Equipment

  • mixing bowls
  • electric mixer
  • cake pan

Ingredients

  • 3 large apples- slice thin
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • *1 1/2 cups sugar
  • *4 large eggs
  • *1 cup oil
  • *1/2 cup orange juice
  • *2 tsp vanilla extract (can include lemon and/ or almond extract)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix apples, cinnamon, 3 teaspoons sugar and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and set aside.
  • Mix 5* ingredients together in the mixer bowl at low/medium speed.
  • Gradually add flour mix.
  • Layer as follows: place approximately a third of the cake mix layer in pan, add some apples, repeat.
  • Bake at 350°F for approximately 1 hour.
  • Enoy!
