Sharing Our History: Fishawack Papers: Another Chapter

The Library of the Chathams and the Historical Societies of Chatham Township and Chatham Borough are updating the Fishawack Papers, a 14-volume collection of historical manuscripts first published in 1972, to capture the rich history of our community.

Originally focused on Chatham Borough, the papers will now include the history of Chatham Township and recent updates on the Borough to make them a true history of the Chathams! All 14 volumes are available in the Library’s New Jersey Room and online.

We invite you to contribute your story—through video, audio, or written testimonials—sharing your experiences. Discover and share the powerful history of our community, ranging from schools, sports, first responders, businesses, worship, the arts, prominent people, important events, and more.  Your contribution can help build this valuable resource for generations to come.

To learn more about this project and how you can get involved, please contact Robert Schriek of the library by phone at 862-246-6320 or via email at librarian@chathamlibrary.org.

The Fishawack Papers are for everyone – join us and become a part of Another Chapter!
