Coding Cougars is a group of experienced Chatham High School students who have provided free computer science classes to over 100 students from schools across New Jersey.  They are offering a summer camp from Monday, August 16 through Saturday, August 21, from 10 am to 3 pm.  Topics will include:

  • Introduction to Programming Languages (Python, Java, AppInventor, Scratch)
  • Up-and-Coming Computer Science
  • Video Editing
  • Game Development
  • Much more

Students will be placed into appropriate groups and will have dedicated high schoolers teaching them important skills for their futures.  There will be fun games and activities throughout the day.  There will be a lunch break – bring your own lunch (we have a refrigerator and microwave in the room).

Registration is open to students entering Grades 4 to 8.  While we encourage you to attend all 6 days, it is not required.  Each student must bring their own laptop with internet capability.  There is a very limited number of laptops that the library can provide – contact us at 973-635-0603 to request one.
