Dr. Roy Licklider, Professor of Political Science at Rutgers University with a Ph.D. in Internal Relations from Yale, will present a two-part lecture series on Tuesdays, February 13 and 20 at 1 pm on the history and politics of North Korea. We will examine its history from 8000 BC through its dynasties, wars, and relationships with the Soviet Union, China, and the U.S. We will also look at present-day North Korea with its dependence on foreign aid for food, its tight political control by a young and untested leader, its move toward nuclear weapons, threats about conquering South Korea and waging war against the U.S. This is a free CALL series. Join us to bring in the New Year! This February, Chinese people around the world will be celebrating the start of the Year of the Dog. In this program we will make a dragon puppet, taste a Chinese pastry, and talk about the holiday’s traditions and superstitions. Hosted by Emily Wang.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be held on Wednesdays, February 7 to April 11 from 10 am to 2 pm.
