Teen Painting Night: A Taste of Summer

Ages 13 & Up

Limit: 10 students     Registration opens Tuesday, July 2

Create an acrylic painting of a summer favorite with the guidance of artist Erica Pizza. She is a mixed media artist whose work can be seen in galleries around New Jersey. All materials will be provided. Please wear clothes for painting or bring a smock.

College Essay Workshop with Alisha Davlin

Wednesdays, July 10, 17 & 24 – 3 to 5 pm

For students entering Grade 12.  Grade 11 students will be accepted only if space permits

Attendance at 3 classes required

Registration opens Wednesday, June 26                 Limit:  12 students

Brainstorm, draft and complete the Common Application Personal Statement.  As a former admissions essays reader, Ms. Davlin knows what makes for a competitive college essay.  You want the reader to connect with your voice, to know you, and most importantly – to remember you.  This course offers you the chance to improve your essay writing so you can stand out from the crowd.

Everyone who attends will get to vote on which space-themed movie we watch. The movie with the most votes wins! Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be served; please register so we know how many pizzas to buy. Movies will be rated PG or PG-13.

This great event is for all gamers out there – teenagers, children and their parents, whole families. There will be many systems set up to play, from the old school Atari, Nintendo, and Sega consoles to newer systems like the Wii U, and our new Arcade1Up Centipede cabinet!

Stop by on Friday, July 19 between 3 and 5:30 pm and/or Saturday, July 20 from 9:30 am to 4 pm.

Raising Seeing Eye Puppies

This event is for the whole family!  The 4-H Seeing Eye Puppy Raising Project will bring puppies to the library to explain how they are socialized and trained by foster families.  The puppies represent many breeds including German shepherds, Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, and poodles.  When old enough, these dogs will become part of the Seeing Eye program at the Morristown campus where they will be trained to guide the blind and help them lead independent lives.
