For those wanting to improve their English language skills, this series of classes spans 8 weeks from September 13 to November 1.  The program will be conducted by Language Education and Resource Network (LEARN) and volunteer tutors.  Students will be divided into small groups by skill level.  The program is free – all you need is a commitment to learn!  Register online, in person, or call 973-635-0603.

CALL: The History and Politics of Russia

Dr. Roy Licklider, Professor of Political Science at Rutgers University with a Ph.D. in International Relations from Yale, will present a two-part lecture series on the history, culture and politics of Russia.  The first lecture will discuss the history and culture of Russia.  The second will discuss current events and issues involving Russia and the US, and Russia’s relationship with other countries.  This is a free CALL series.  Pre-registration is requested; you can sign up for one or both lectures.  Register online, in person, or by calling 973-635-0603.  Please sign up for each lecture separately.

Performance of The Spanish Tragedy by the Hudson Shakespeare Company

Jon Ciccarelli, artistic director for the Hudson Shakespeare Company, will present a production of Thomas Kyd’s tragedy featuring actors in multiple roles.  The play features supernatural happenings and a Tarantino-style revenge story set in Gothic Spain.
