Healthy Cooking for Teens: Eggy Bites & Breakfast Cookies

Healthy Cooking for Teens: Eggy Bites & Breakfast Cookies

Many teens want to eat healthy or learn about nutrition, but don’t know where to start.  For this project, Chatham 8th Grader Josie Ivancich, working on her Girl Scout Silver Award in Health and Nutrition, teamed up with Nutrition Specialist Lauren Leonard, CNS.  In each class, we will first hear from Ms. Leonard and then get to cook the meal together with Josie.  You will learn new life skills of prepping and cooking food – and then enjoy a delicious meal with your family!

The program will be held virtually on Zoom.  We will email you the Zoom link before the class.  Grades 6 to 8, limit 30 students

You will need to have the ingredients for today’s recipe.  Click here to see the list

In Class 5 we will make Eggy Bites and Breakfast Cookies.  Registration required – sign up for Class 5 here or call the library at 973-635-0603.

Why not sign up for all of the classes?  You can learn more cooking techniques, more recipes, try different things, and you will also learn more about healthy eating!  Each class requires separate registration.

Michelangelo and Bernini: The Design and Decoration of the New St. Peter's Basilica, Part I

Michelangelo and Bernini: The Design and Decoration of the New St. Peter's Basilica, Part I

Margaret Kuntz, Professor of Art History and Chair of the Art History Department at Drew University, will present the first of two lectures on  St. Peter’s Basilica.  She will discuss the inter-relationship of the design and decoration of the new St. Peter’s from its inception under Pope Julius II through its completion under Pope Paul V.  In this lecture we will discover why the design was modified and built as a basilica plan rather than the centralized plan designed by Michelangelo and dictated by Pope Paul III Farnese.  We will also learn how the design change at the beginning of the 17th century impacted the construction process.  Please join us Tuesday, May 11 at 7 pm for a virtual presentation of this lecture.  It is requested that you sign up online, and there will be a fee of $8 to attend.  If you are unable to pay, please send an email to events@chathamlibrary.org and the fee will be waived.  A Zoom link will be sent to all attendees to join the lecture before it takes place.

To pay for the lecture, click here.  When you receive a confirmation of payment from PayPal, please forward it to events@chathamlibrary.org
