Come visit a miniature horse from Hope’s Promise Farm and listen to the book My Friend Chief: The Story of a Therapeutic Riding Horse. Featuring our friend Michelangelo, this book tells the story of his friend Chief and how he became a therapeutic riding horse who helps people with special needs learn how to ride. Author Maureen Coultas will bring one of her miniature horses to meet and greet the children of Chatham.

For anyone wanting to improve their English language skills, we are starting our first ever ESL program. The program will be conducted by Language Education and Resource Network (LEARN) and volunteer tutors for 8 weeks on Thursdays from May 3 through June 21. Further sessions may be offered depending on demand. Students will be divided into small groups by skill level. Books and other learning materials will be provided. The program is free – all you need is a commitment to learn!

Joan Drew was an artist, printmaker, sculptor, painter, graphic designer, poet, librettist, and publisher. Her fine art prints will be on exhibit here throughout the month with a reception held by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Fran Drew on Sunday, June 3 at 2:15 pm. All are welcome to attend. Joan is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art”, and her fine art prints from the 1950’s and 60’s number close to 5,000. Her work has been exhibited at Princeton Library, the Philadelphia Art Museum, Nelson Rockefeller’s collections, and on the cover page of the New York Times Sunday Book Review, record album covers, book jackets, and performing arts programs.
