CS Base at the Library
CS Base is offering a series of classes at the library. The first course being offered is Programming with Python.
Course: Programming with Python
Description: Over the course of this 11-session class, students will learn the basics of the Python programming language. Each session will feature a new concept and development of fun, interactive programs using replit, an online IDE. The first sessions will start at the very basics of programming – data types, variables, loops, and comparisons. No prior experience with a text-based programming language is necessary.
Dates & Times: Every Monday 4:00-5:00 PM from October 3 to December 19, 2022. No class on Halloween, October 31.
Grade Levels: 4th – 8th
Class Size: 15 students
Location: Woman’s Club Room in the Library of the Chathams
Prior Knowledge Needed: Students should have a basic understanding of programming logic and some vocabulary. Ideally, students should be familiar with Scratch / another block-based language.
Equipment Needed: you will need a laptop (school Chromebooks work well). The library has a limited number of laptops available to use in class.
