New Mobile App Published on: March 4, 2021

Introducing the New MAIN Mobile App! Welcome to the library in your pocket. The SOLUS Mobile Library App offers an ‘anytime, anywhere, everywhere’ library experience from your Apple or Android device. With the new app, you have access to the diverse shared collection of MAIN resources, plus a digital library card with linkable accounts, downloadable electronic resources, full-catalog searching with the ability to place holds, multi-language support, self-checkout, and more. Auto-Renewal Info Published on: December 24, 2020

As of January 2021, our library and the other MAIN libraries now have the wonderful new convenience of Auto-Renewal. This means that items you have checked out currently and in the future will automatically renew if they are eligible.  Which kinds of items automatically renew? Most physical items checked out from a library that already allow at least one renewal may be eligible for auto-renewal(s). Digital materials like eBooks are not auto-renewed. Home Delivery Service Published on: September 25, 2020

If you are a Chatham resident who is homebound or cannot come to the library to pick up your books for health reasons, you can now have your items delivered.  Library staff and Friends of the Library volunteers will bring the books right to your door! You can request books, movies and other materials by phone or through our online catalog.  We will deliver the items to your door, usually within a day or two after your item becomes available.  … Continue reading

Virtual Browsing Published on: September 24, 2020

The library is now open for in-person visits, but we are still offering virtual browsing if you prefer that option.   You can browse the library shelves via a video call.  To use this service, you will need a smartphone or another device with either Facetime or Google Meet app. Call the library at 973-635-0603 or email to set up an appointment.  Appointments are currently offered from 6 to 8 pm Monday through Thursday.  When requesting an appointment, tell us … Continue reading

Library Receives $150,000 Grant from Investors Foundation Published on: June 26, 2020

Library of the Chathams Receives $150,000 Grant from Investors Foundation Update – On Wednesday, July 28, Investors Bank Assistant Vice President and Chatham Branch Manager Mark Cody presented a $50,000 check to Library Board President Andy Hollander and Friends of the Library President Susan Hoag.   The Library of the Chathams has received a $150,000 grant from Investors Foundation to help fund the library’s Bridging Space to Place renovation project.  Fundamental improvements of this venture will include more space for … Continue reading
