- New Study Pod:
Our new Study Pod is a fully soundproofed, private workspace designed for focus and clarity. Ideal for one or two people, it provides a quiet, distraction-free environment for meetings, deep work, or creative sessions.
The Study Pod must be reserved and may be used for up to two hours per reservation. Patrons can contact the library or visit the Meeting Rooms page to check availability and make a booking.
Please note that the pod is a food-free space to help maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all users.
- Medici.tv:
You can now enjoy recorded live performances as well as some live events from major concert venues and performers throughout the world! It’s all free with your Chatham library card.
Medici.tv is a classical music streaming service available online or via the “medici.tv for libraries” app. Its library features over 4,000 videos of concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries, and master classes. And jazz fans will find over 600 videos of jazz concerts, archival footage, and documentaries. You can view medici.tv in the library, from home, or on your mobile device using your Chatham library card.

- Calling all collectors in 6th grade and younger!
Nine-year-old Chatham resident Addie came up with a wonderful idea for local children to share their collections with the community in our children’s display case. To launch the project, Addie has generously shared her own collection of “cute things,” which will be on display throughout December. Stop by the library to take a look—and be inspired to share your own collection next! Click here to sign up to display your collection!
- Library Chef Junior:
In addition to our Library Chef classes for adults, the library now offers Library Chef Junior! Each month, there will be one live cooking class for kids (ages 5-9) and one for teens (ages 10+).

- ComicsPlus:
Free with your Chatham library card, you can now borrow thousands of comics, graphic novels, and manga from popular publishers through ComicsPlus. There are no waitlists or holds, and you can check out as many as you wish! ComicsPlus has something for everyone—children, teens, and adults.

- Library of Things Updates:
We are happy to announce our new Library of Things lending and reservation system – Lending Key!
This will allow you to search by thing or by category and place a reservation for a specific date.
We have also added cake pans to our Library of Things! We currently have some added for the holiday season but will be adding many more soon.
- Library Chef:
We’re thrilled to introduce a delicious addition to our library programs: Library Chef! This unique culinary journey offers you the chance to enhance your kitchen skills with expert-led classes, all from the comfort of your home.
There will be three live virtual classes/meetings per month. Visit our Library Chef page at chathamlibrary.org/librarychef to learn how to sign up and get cooking!
- Color Copier:
In addition to the black & white copier, we have now added a brand new color copier!
Color copies cost $.25 per page. Please see the Reference Desk if you have any questions or need assistance.
- VOX Books:
VOX Books are audio books that are attached to print books! We have added a number of these to our children’s collection and are excited for children (and parents) to try them out. They are fully portable and can be used with or without headphones. Available in Picture Books, Easy Readers, Chapter Books, and Nonfiction – stop by the Children’s Room to see the display and check them out!
- New Teen Room:
Our new teen room is complete! We are excited to be able to offer teens a space of their own. The space features high-top tables and chairs, a lounge area, the Young Adult fiction collection, and three individual study rooms.
- New Two-Way Translation Device from TranslateLive:
The Instant Language Assistant (ILA) provides real-time translation so that any two people can have a conversation no matter what language they speak. It supports over 120 languages and users can speak, spell out, or type to convey their message. The device is simple to use and library staff is always happy to help. Stop by the circulation desk to try it out!
- Wall Street Journal Online:
Main Library Alliance is excited to announce that The Wall Street Journal will now be available digitally to all library cardholders. Patrons will have access to unlimited 3-day “checkouts”, unlimited articles, E-Replica of that day’s paper, more than 30 newsletters & alerts, and more!
- New Self-Checkout Kiosk:
You now have another option for checking out your items! Our second self-checkout kiosk can be found just outside of the Children’s Room.
